I have myself noted the ever-growing prevalence of comparisons of certain politicians to Hitler, and the idiocy thereof. But Orac does it much better.

Respectful Insolence: Far, far, sooner than expected, the monster returns to invade the Presidential campaign
“So powerful was the illogic and tenuous nature of that comparison, comparing speeches just for cadences (given that they weren’t even in the same language) that it shut me down. I had to reboot. It has been a long time since the monster produced a Hitler analogy that unbelievably idiotic.”

“In luck” makes it sound as if luck is a place. Well, if luck is a place, I suppose I am there. Reading Leroy Sievers’ blog, though, gets me to wondering about the boundaries of this place, the boundaries of luck.

Currently, Leroy’s outlook isn’t looking as rosy as I had hoped it would, though he is living “in luck” because he has lasted longer than his doctors had originally predicted.

So what is this luck thing anyway? A country, I guess, but one that borders on more countries than I had originally believed.

One thing that I unabashedly hate about the holidays is the eternal question: “Are you ready for Christmas?” I have never known what to answer. Invariably, I say something along the lines of “Oh, I never am,” never until the day actually starts. It seems self-defeating to me to work so hard at the big Christmas Machine that you cannot enjoy the day.

I slave over hot computers instead, thinking self-contentedly about the nice, big ham in the refrigerator downstairs.

Now you, quit reading blogs and go do something enjoyable!
