I have GarageBand, which came with the latest update of iLife. My brain, silly thing, thinks: I’m good at poetry. Poetry is an art. Music is an art, too. I’ll be good at music.
Who the hell will ever know?! I’m still trying to figure out how to arrange the basic tracks that came with the silly program. I’m watching an ad about something to do with flossing your teeth in order to cool my brain down. Words and music are not the same thing. Say it to yourselves with me: words and music are not the same thing!
I am forever a member of the audience. I try to be as knowledgable as I can get, but that still only gets me a seat no closer than front row. I won’t ever be up there, looking out at you. Poetry readings don’t count. And I haven’t done one in a quarter of a century. And I think they’re incredibly silly. I love listening and becoming a part of the music that the singer creates.
But I am forever a member of the audience, only.
