Technology and my morning

While I wake up, I watch a special on the History Channel about Chief Inspector Walter Dew, the first person to catch a criminal with the help of modern technology.

“Technology” doesn’t seem like a word for something that would have a history. But a thing called a “Marconi wireless” was once cutting edge. Doubt there’s one outside of a museum here and there, though.

Fluffy the Laptop is almost a year old… will be in a week. He’s ageing well.

I used to think that 3 megabytes was a terribly great deal of RAM to have. And someone I mentioned that to about 15 years ago said he once couldn’t think of what he’d need the huge amount of 16K of RAM for.

We got to the moon on 8K. I get shivers whenever I think of that. 8K of memory in a tin can got 3 people to the moon.
