I just talked with the vet, and it seems that Beeper the Orange Cat has a malignant tumor in her left sinuses. It’s an invasive sort of tumor, and not very responsive to chemotherapy. He ruled out any possibility of a cure — just that there was a small chance that the tumor could be controlled. She’s got less than a year now.

I have to go curl up and snuggle her now…

  1. Oh, that’s a shame! A cat’s head is pretty much ALL sinus cavity, except for the brain, so that’s a lot of area to be concerned with.

    If you have a college nearby that has veterinary students, sometimes, they have breakthrough treatments that they can perform on animals that a regular vet doesn’t. Just a suggestion.

  2. These are the breakthrough-treatment vets… they just can’t do anything for her that has even half a chance of containing it.

    I just hope she’s not in pain… she’s sleeping a lot now.

  4. So sorry to hear about your cat, Patti. I don’t have any pets (children are about all I can handle), but we had a dog and a cat when I was growing up, and I know how attached you can get to the little guys.
