Off to the Apple store

Yup, after almost 2 years on duty, Fluffy is retiring and the new 12″ machine is coming on board. But what to call it? “Fluffy Jr.” is so unimaginative. The thing deserves its own name.

I used to have one called “Turing.” (It was a Turing machine — got it? hahahaha. OK, I’ll shut up now.) Suggestions welcome.

  1. My two G4 PowerBooks are Ariela and Rafiela. My G5 is Gavriela.

    My 1999 PC laptop is Louise.

    (As in “Jeez, Louise!”)

    My new PC has a name, too, but she doesn’t like for me to give it out.

  2. My laptop is named Savannah Falls; but she’s not an Apple.

    It’s late or early so this might sound really insipid but if it’s good enough for Gwenyth Paltrow–how about Apple?

  6. If it’s an iBook, how ’bout “Blanca”? (white)

    If it’s a PowerBook, how ’bout … stay with me on this … “Pata” (which is spanish for “foot” [animal, that is]; foot = 12″; 12″ ‘book…get it? Of course you do! Plus, it sort of sounds like “Patti.”)
