Wasn’t he a member of the Hitler Youth? Yes.

Damn it all to hell, Catholicism is up for its nastiest conflicts with any other religion from here on out, until Pope Benedict XVI is outa here.

  1. Would this article in the Jerusalem Post help explain the Nazi Youth issue?

    Sorry, but expecting the titular head of a major religion to compromise that religion’s fundamental tenets just seems a bit unreasonable. (And, no…I’m not RC. Far from it.)

    I suppose that what I was looking for was an ability to compromise, which Ratzinger doesn’t have. Most American catholics already go their own way on many issues. I guess the divide will just go deeper.
