This time, the chag in question is Sukkot, which begins in a couple of hours here.
I went to Rabin Square this morning, where many tables were set out in the open air, and topped with Strange Plant Life™, which was for sale. The Four Species, as it were. I bought 3 of them… didn’t see a fourth, which is evidently very small. Myrtle, that’s what I forgot! I’m to have lulav, etrog, willow and myrtle. Three out of four isn’t half-bad, you know. Somebody else has myrtle, I know.
Again, the observant Jewish world wonders what one could possibly do with an etrog, anyway, once Sukkot is over. Ohr’s grandmother can make jam out of them, and I’ve seen an ad for etrog-flavored vodka. I’m not sure it’s worth the effort. Maybe we could have Etrog Bowling!
So, have a good Sukkot, y’all!
