No matter how much I try to lose myself in my writing, it never turns out to be possible. Has anyone else noticed that? I’m not talking about writer’s block. I don’t have that. Barely awake, I listened to the birds outside (birds outside! what a concept!), and realized something very important: I didn’t recognize the songs. New birds!
