What I keep coming back to


No matter how much I try to lose myself in my writing, it never turns out to be possible. Has anyone else noticed that? I’m not talking about writer’s block. I don’t have that. I mean, writing what’s not an escape: either I do that, or I write mediocre stuff. Good mediocre stuff, but still, mediocre. OK, enough of that.

Spring again

Like everybody, I guess, I am tired of winter, and the weather that it brings. But this morning, however, is a promise of something else. Barely awake, I listened to the birds outside (birds outside! what a concept!), and realized something very important: I didn’t recognize the songs. New birds! Ladies and gentlemen, the Spring migration has reached Cincinnati! Go outside and celebrate.
