Let’s see what’s on the news:
- Iraq, and Saddam
- Democratic Presidential hopefuls
- Michael Jackson
- Kobe Bryant
- Sniper Trials
And the ever-present weather. As of Sat, Dec 20, 2003, that is what we have decided is our news content, except for brief interruptions allowed when there is breaking news about a terrorist bombing in Israel or the opening of a movie that will probably get some Oscar nominations.
What does that say about us? Preliminary thoughts:
- We don’t have a very big attention span. This is easily discerned by the shortness of the list.
- Legal troubles of various celebrated entertainers, sportsmen, or notorious people are very entertaining. None of the above three legal proceedings affects us in the least, but golly, they sure are fun to watch. Yeah, them suckers are guilty as heck! Give ’em the death penalty!
- Clear-cut issues are preferable. We want something/someone we can root for unequivocally, and have all the reasons for doing so clearly laid out before us. Gray areas make for undesirable mental effort.
