Why are the morning prayers starting to seem necessary? When I was little, the (catholic) prayers I was taught to do were a chore. You did them to avoid hellfire.
Now, the Shema seems as necessary as morning tea (i.e. not a luxury), and the Shemoneh Esrei is a journey, whose way is shorter the more familiar I become with it.
Even the cats are learning to not attack the tzitzis right off.
