Two Palestinian Hamas suicide bombers blew up two crowded city buses minutes apart on Tuesday, August 31, in the southern Israeli town of Beersheba, leaving 16 Israelis dead and more than 100 injured. The explosions ripped through the town’s main thoroughfare, Itzhak Rager Blvd, hitting passengers, passing vehicles, pedestrians and buildings. It was the deadliest Palestinian terrorist attack Beersheba has ever suffered.
