Hotel California

Now, the last time I was in Los Angeles for Rosh Hashanah was — a year ago. And damn if it ain’t that time again. Which means that I travelled a lot today.

And it seems that when I travel a lot, I don’t blog much. Therefore, the late entry. Probably a solo entry too, unless I scarf up a lot of electronic tidbits real fast.

Mordechai is, of course, doing his teachings for the New Year at the local temple. That, and many other meetings to be attended.

Boy I’m glad there’s a pool here in West Hollywood…

  1. I am so curious, but I don’t want to be nosy. Tell me to mind my own business if you want, but I simply have to ask:

What is it that you do that takes you to all of these fabulous places? Who is Mordechai?

The places that you go to and the things you do are so interesting! More! I want more! <——a clamoring reader

  2. Wow! I’ve actually intrigued someone! Mordechai is Reb Mordechai Gafni, my spiritual brother, who is not only in charge of my conversion but my (senior) partner in lots of projects, books and tv mostly, though the tv hasn’t gotten started over here yet. I’ve gotten to go with him to the studio for filming in Tel Aviv, though. Gonna put up a link to his latest book…. I have been remiss in this, though I’m pretty sure I couldn’t sell central heating to Eskimos….

He does a couple of weeks of teaching several times a year at this shul here in LA, so I get to come here and flake out by the pool when my driving services aren’t needed.

  3. Ah. Even more intriguing! Thanks for sharing the info with me. I am a Jew from birth, but had very little religious instruction, though I grew up in NY and have been steeped in Jewish culture all my life. I am learning too, and find your journey extremely interesting. : )
