  1. After the allies liberated Dachau, undertaker specialists very, very carefully removed any and all ashes, etc, from the infamous ovens. Those remains were placed in a special memorial urn.

    However, if you visit, you will still see some ashy remains — a very light dusting. These are not ashes of Jews. No sirree.

    After the Nuremberg trials, all those convicted were hanged. Except for Goering who managed to kill himself in his cell, of course. I’m not sure what happened to the other bodies, but I know about what happened to Heinrich Himmler’s.

    The allies fired up the ovens at Dachau one last time; those are Himmler’s ashes that you see traces of when you visit.

    You know, when I toured the place a couple of years ago, those ovens looked pretty sturdy still. I bet they could work even now…. Why not?
