You know how you have that walking stick by your side of the bed, to
use to get Lucy out from under the bed when it’s time to go to the Cat
Wash? Well, it doesn’t work any more.
Oh, you can poke her with it. A lot. But she’s figured it out, and she
hunkers down under the bed and lets herself be poked. She ain’t having
nothing to do with no Cat Wash if she can help it. You have to maneuver
her somehow to one side of the bed or the other, close enough to the
edge so you can grab a leg. She is not a happy pussycat right now.
Beeper is more philosophical about the whole thing. Newton is glad to
have a quiet day to himself.
