Another reason for me to leave catholicism, part 2

Typical, ignorant crap from yet another typical, ignorant redneck.

Outside The Beltway : Catholic League President’s Anti-Semitic Remarks on “Scarborough Country”

The blogosphere is all abuzz … about some anti-Semitic comments made by Bill Donohue, president of the Catholic League, on the December 8 edition of MSNBC’s “Scarborough Country” in the presence of guest host Pat Buchanan.

  1. Patti: FWIW, I am a convert to Catholicism; and one of the last issues I had to settle before being confirmed was whether or not the Church itself was anti-Semitic. Based on statements and actions by this Pope and Cardinal Kasper, I was convinced that, in spite of the existence of anti-Semites in the Church, the Church herself is not anti-Semitic. I agree with you that Donahue’s statement is anti-Semitic, which shows either 1) we still have a long way to go; or 2) that the times of the Gentiles (St. Luke 21:24) are almost over.

I hope it’s not the latter.

  2. Patti – I’m deeply troubled when a fellow Catholic acts the way Donohue did. It really just makes me sad, and a bit angry. While I know there are wacko nut-job Catholics like him out there, my personal experience is exactly the opposite of what he represents. I think it would serve all Catholics well to focus first on their own conversion and holiness, before criticizing faults they may see in others.
