Winter. Upstate NY.

Single digit temperatures. My fellow maggidim in the class gather. I sit by the fire in the fireplace, warming up, having arrived, parked, unpacked and stowed everything that needed parking, unpacking, and/or stowing.

They’ve installed a wireless network here since August. Oh joy of joys! I can blog by the fireplace. I hope this will take my mind off of being away from my family over Christmas, that great goyische Ur-holiday, for the first time since forever. Peter was giving me lots of guilt-inducing grief last night: “But Mom, I’ll be gone next year….”

We watched the first half or so of Men in Black, and went to bed, and I was off very early this morning. I shouted, “Goodbye, Peter!” up the stairway, but I think he didn’t hear it.

Anyway, here I am.

  1. next to the fireplace, not bad.

wifi is sooo good. I tend to write toons in the living room, then draw in the study.
plus, one can channel surf the MSM and be amused at their efforts of the day…

  2. Well Patti, Cincinnati wasn’t much warmer!

I’m blogging by the fireplace now, too. We’ve had wifi in the house for a few years now, and it’s nice. I got a subscription to t-mobile wifi a while ago since I tend to spend too much time in Delta Crown Rooms waiting for flights. It has certainly enhanced my ability to get work done… and to blog when I should be working 🙂

    Have a great week!

  3. Unfortunately, the fireplace did not have a fire in it for the rest of this past week — we’d set up our tables and work in front of it, and even if the stuff on the table had been fireproof, it was too hard to get to the fireplace. Ah, well…

I’ll be back by my own fireplace tomorrow night.

Now I have to order some firewood…

    :python:
