My reward for Peter’s last-semester class in Hitler and Stalin (in-depth WWII studies) is this semester’s class on Churchill. So nice not to have to watch the development of mass-murderers from childhood on up. Instead of watching as Stalin has all his best friends killed and Hitler grabs for power, I watch the life of a properly successful man. How refreshing. A properly successful man who generated many amusing anecdotes. Gonna like Peter’s homework time more than ever!
Gail has up, just now, some stuff about Churchill too. Though I hope people feel that it therefore isn’t necessary to be a good student to succeed — Churchill, after entering the Cavalry, put himself on an incredibly rigorous course of self-study, going especially deeply into history and politics.
