Why I am currently upset with Liberals in general

This is a great generalization, but here goes:

Theorem: Liberals start with the assumption that whatever America does (i.e. that we do) is wrong.

Corollary: They start out criticizing.

Corollary: They regard it as a fault to see or admit any unqualified goodness in America.

Yes, many things that America (in whole or part) does are wrong and deserve criticism. However, even more things, I most firmly believe, America does are right and deserve praise.

I want to see a Liberal praise something about America. A big something. If there is such a thing, please post a link in the comment section.

  1. Well, this is a big topic, but I feel the need to reply to it. I may ramble. . . .One issue is that our very strengths are our weaknesses. In order to provide a government that would not allow tyranny, several things were built in in the beginning that have since caused other problems. We have the checks and balances that end up checking and balancing us right into deadlock constantly. We have term limits, that while providing fresh ideas regularly also allows the voting public to swing like a pendulum because people are naturally fairly reactive, not proactive. I disagree with your contention that liberals believe that America is automatically wrong in its actions. Most of the liberals I know are sad and frustrated that the great promise of Democracy, like all great ideas, has not lived up to our expectations. Not that we are always wrong, but that when given the opportunity, we fall far short of how great we could be. Muddled enough?
