Turkey Charges Syrian in a Plot to Blow Up Israeli Cruise Ships – New York Times:
ISTANBUL, Aug 11 – A Syrian man was charged on Thursday by a Turkish court in connection with a possible plot to attack Israeli cruise ships docking on Turkey’s Mediterranean coast.
The man, Louasi Sakka, was escorted into court here by antiterror police officers. In a court waiting room where he was being held, he opened the window and shouted to reporters outside. “I have prepared one ton of explosives,” he shouted in rough Turkish before police officers dragged him away from the window. “I was going to hit the Israeli ships. No Turks were going to be hurt, only Israelis.”
