I think ol’ Pat and I believe in completely different deities…

The Moderate Voice – Pat Robertson Tells PA Town God Will Punish Them For Their Vote:

Pat Robertson has a direct connection with You Know Who and he has delivered a warning to a town in Pennsylvania that dared oust school board candidates who favored intelligent design:

God is going to GET YOU for that…

Some day, that man is going to say something that won’t give me a headache. Probably while he’s standing next to that snowball in Hell…

Well, while I agree that Robertson can be consistently relied on to spout idiocy and in those times I find him to be an embarrassment to my faith, the fact of the matter in this case is that the report you link to is going where Pat didn’t. He didn’t say “God will punish you” and the quote that’s provided doesn’t even imply that. He simply said that the town shouldn’t expect divine intervention if something goes haywire.

    But, that’s nitpicking. It was a stupid thing to say, and I don’t believe he can even back it up in Scripture. I happen to be a creationist (gasp!) and even I would vote against school board candidates whose sole platform was based on getting Intelligent Design into the classroom. There are so many more important things we should be dealing with. Plus, it’s a huge leap to say that voting against a candidate for whatever reason represents a turning away from God.

  2. I don’t ever agree with anything that Pat has to say, and I have to say most likely never will.

    Pat get confused about what he thinks, and what he thinks everybody eles should think.
