If I were ever going to be a bureaucrat, which I’m not, here’s where I’d want to work:

The Directorate of Time

No, seriously, it’s a real place. They keep track of what time it is. Of course. Which takes more effort and technology than you might think.

  1. It’s a wonderful place. I worked closely with them when I worked in the Pentagon. At the time the director was a Dr. Winkler… whom we called Father Time… a fascinating man. I still have a couple of friends there. Of course it’s colocated with the US Naval Observatory.

    The campus is idyllic and with the Vice President living there Security made it extremely quiet and peaceful… but the best part was their library. No matter the job I think ANYone would absolutley love working there.
