What I've been up to

Buck is now here in Boulder, and we’ve had a nice evening at a hotel, not the condo. Sometimes, you just need a vacation from your vacation. Not that it was a vacation to start with.

It all started with getting Peter back to school. Now it’s devolved into keeping Peter in school. We are not a happy kid. We have not got our friends with us at U of Colo, and we refuse to make new ones. We refuse to get involved in anything at the school, because it would be at the school, by definition, and therefore bad. And so, we therefore hate the place because we feel alienated. If we come home and go to U of Cincinnati, all will be well in our universe, and we won’t have to face the horrible responsibilities of being on our own.

After several days of fielding this on my own, I need a vacation!

  1. Hmmm… Boulder or Cinci… As much as I love Cincinnati, being young & single in college in BOULDER sure does sound pretty nice. THough it’s been a while since I was there, Boulder seemed a lot more interesting for a young man than Cincinnati does.

    Maybe he has Skyline withdrawal?

  2. That could be, Steve. I sent him a case of cans last September, but none since. I guess a new case is overdue, hunh?

  3. It can be very hard to be in a new city alone. Worse still is the shock of college. Everything is harder, and it can be easy to feel left out and out of place.

I’ve been to Boulder and I’ve lived in Cincinnati. Both are nice places, but Boulder seems to provide a more, er, let’s call it ‘target-rich environment’ for a young man in college :).

Still, living away from what you used to call ‘home’ is hard.

    Was Boulder Peter’s choice?

Will going back to Cincinnati be a real solution?
    Sending positive thoughts your way.

    Ruben
