It's a dry heat

In Boulder, the heat (so far) is dry. Dryer than in Cincinnati, at least. Not a lot of places, outside maybe the Congo, are more humid than Ohio in summer.

I surprised myself and stayed outside for much of yesterday afternoon, wandering around to various places, including the nearby park by Boulder Creek. The creek was extra full with the greater snow melt. You could feel the cold radiating up from the water.

What never ceases to surprise me about Boulder: cars really do stop for you in the sidewalks. In Cincinnati, this would be considered a sign of weakness on the part of the driver. I mean, the driver would sort of stop for you, but in an aggressive, fist-shaking way. The pedestrian is given to understand that he/she very nearly became a smear on the concrete.

Maybe it’s the thinner air here… makes the drivers less aggressive.
