Inner something

These past few weeks, when I’ve not been dealing with nausea, I’ve had quite the bit of inner peace going. It has just occurred to me, though, that this inner peace could simply be a result of the rearrangement of my guts. I prefer the more spiritual explanation; I don’t know why — I just do.

One thing that has cheered me up is the great chunk of hits that I got for posting the “Death Bed” poem by Siegfried Sassoon. Evidently, I was by far not the only one to be curious about the lines that Judd Hirsch recited. I’d be glad to put up other attention-grabbing poems, but I have no idea what they’d be. My old T. S. Eliot book from college lies nested next to my left ankle, though, so just go ahead and dare me!

Potassium: I need to ingest a bit more. Bananas, orange juice, raisins… what else? Somebody out there ought to have a notion or two about nutrition. Speak up! πŸ™‚

  1. If you’re mainly interested in potassium, almost any sports drink (ala Gatorade) will help in that area. Some of ’em even taste good!

  2. I don’t know much of anything about nutrition, sorry πŸ™‚ And lately, not much about inner peace – but I’m very glad to hear that you have that peace, and to read how well you’ve recovered and all that. Peace – inner & outer – is one of the greatest gifts we will ever know (in my opinion).

  3. Hi Patti,
How is my friend? Try eating green leafy vegetables or suffer as I do and take those horrible potassium tablets. Also you might want to supplement with the original Tahitian Noni juice. Peace to you and yours.

  4. I’m doing good, Norma! I can actually get through a whole browsing session at the bookstore now without having to sit down and rest.

Will try the leafy greens. Buck just made me a dinner of asparagus, strawberries and a banana, with OJ to drink. I’m trying to avoid taking any more pills than I already have to.

    Love you and miss you!
