How to Read

As we saw in the last “Now Reading” entry, I am indeed reading a real book again. Back before my operation, I’d looked forward to all the free time I’d have on my hands during recovery — I’d read and read and read…

What I hadn’t realized: the effects that anesthesia and assorted medications would have on my attention span, much less my ability to walk to and from a bookcase. So, now I’m reading again. Tim O’Brien is wonderful. Please feel free to add any suggestions you may have.

  1. Well, I hesitate to recommend this one, but I enjoyed it: The Introvert Advantage (Marti Olsen Laney). You seem like an introvert to me – maybe I’m wrong – and that’s not a bad thing. I’m definitely introverted, and this book was illuminating.

  2. I look forward to finding that one, Steve. You’re right — I am an introvert. For once, I’m glad to see that it has advantages.
