The day of testing

Yesterday, I went through a last test: CT-scan with contrast, of my chest and abdomen. This was also the first test that I had taken, even before I met my oncologist. There’s nothing wrong with me now, which is rather why they did the test now. They want a new baseline normal for me.

No nervousness this time, but a few flashbacks to the first test. The test itself requires little of me besides lying on the CT-scan table and occasionally holding my breath. Also there was the unpleasant task of drinking large amounts of the contrast material, and swallowing something for the esophagus that the nurse said was just like marshmallow fluff. More like marshmallow fluff from hell, but I swallowed a spoonful dutifully.

Then, I was free for the rest of the day. Therefore, we immediately headed to the Wendy’s on the main floor of the hospital. That got rid of the nasty tastes.
