Actually, that title sounds hopelessly romantic. I am actually in a very small town in central Ohio. I am not positive that that constitutes a far away place since it is not many days’ travel away. After all, as Steven Wright says, “Everywhere is walking distance if you have the time.”
Buck spent the day doing the next best thing to walking to this small town: he bicycled the whole way. I traveled the whole way in the ease and comfort and air conditioning of my car. I listened to old radio shows and nibbled on dried pineapple and tea all the way up. Buck developed an intimate relationship with the Ohio countryside. We each privately think we got the better deal. Maybe we both did.
