The death of the motherboard

Much furious activity happening around here since yesterday afternoon, at least on my own personal part. I came home yesterday afternoon to a laptop whose screen was completely unresponsive. The repair man came this morning, and the only thing to conclude after his tests was that the motherboard (or logic board or whatever Apple calls it) is dead. To further aggravate matters, the local Apple store is closed for remodeling until Friday.

I am therefore in mourning, having availed myself of a cheap netbook for the basic functions of internet and mail. It works surprisingly well.

Now I can relax, put my feet up, and try to remember what it was that I was doing before I was so rudely interrupted by fate.

  1. Ahhh. The motherboard diagnosis. I never quite totally believe it. And I thought Macs were built like Macks.

  2. Well, they usually are. Peter says it’s the computer games that fried it. He could be right.
