October morning at #Starbuck’s

Ephemera

The situation:

October. Though it’s a sunny day, it is not a warm sunny day, and the inevitable realization has rolled round to my attention that summer is over, and the light is dwindling, and all hope of happiness is lost.

The hyperbole:

Okay, that’s a hyperbole. However some of the baser regions of my brain and mind thoroughly believe that and were pressing me to have Amazon send my new full-spectrum light bulb overnight. Reason prevailed. The baser regions have been mollified for now.

The reality:

The reality is that now, Saturday, I have to figure out how to get myself actually to change the above-mentioned light bulb in the floor lamp. Telekinesis would turn out to be handy now.

I think I’ll sit at SBUX a few more hours and think about it.
