time passeth

It’s fall, and I’m not ready for it. Party tonight with friends who have a balcony facing the Ohio river in the most desirable possible view, which tonight included fireworks and a river littered with steamboats strung with lights. One bridge at least was clogged with drivers whose only reason to stop was for to gawk. So we gawked at them in return.

Got to describe, at dinner, my foray (described here in the “travels” category) through Israel, including Bethlehem and Beit Jala. Wasn’t much more than a week ago I was staring at the posters of suicide bombers plastered on the walls of houses, and here I am in Comfortable Suburban America, where nothing, especially nothing important, ever happens.

Much amazement at my travels. Me trying to look nonchalant — yah, I go into Palestinian territory every week. Sure I do.

So how was your evening?
