We watch the address as a family, with Buck and me explaining to Peter the basics, like “No, the President doesn’t write his own speeches.” Usually I have a low threshhold for Republican (or Democratic) speech-making, so I’m surprised that my brain isn’t numbed down yet. Buck points out the different senators and representatives.
Yes, the President still says “nucular,” but somehow, I don’t think that’s grounds for impeachment, like many Democrats would say. He’s said it several times, like it’s a dare to the whiny, picky people who are planning on hating his speech regardless of what he says.
The snow falls again, and I try to ignore it and watch the Republican half of the house applaud.
