Sunny Israel

One thing that gets massively forgotten in all of the hubbub about terrorism, pallies and their alleged rights, Sharon’s stroke, and Olmert turning into a hoodlum at Amona, is the fact that Israel is a very lovely country.

Instead of swathed in layers of Warm Stuff™ today, as I would be if I were still in Cincinnati, I have on loose, cool clothes, and sandals. I spent the morning in a long walk on a sunny, warm, well-kept beach inhabited by many others doing roughly the same thing. I now have a lunch of snacks and beer while gazing over the calm, blue Mediterranean, breathing in lovely sea breezes of just exactly the right temperature.

When I told people at the airport that I was headed to Israel, they all gave me looks mixed of astonishment and pity, and asked, “Why would you want to go there?”

Suckers! 😈
