Specifically, one more panhandler. This one (couldn’t tell if it was a girl or a guy) is actually the one going on the top of my list of Best Panhandlers. Seeing this panhandler cheered me up — no, I don’t know why.
Or maybe I do know why. You see, it was a cat. A nice, happy-looking little cat, all dressed up in a red, green and white Christmas cat-sweater, sitting in bread-loaf position on a warm blanket, leashed to the wheel of a bike chained to a wall. Next to the cat was a traditional cardboard sign with PLEASE HELP written on it in marker. The cat seemed quite happy to sit there and watch everyone’s feet as they passed by.
