I think I'll name it "Dobby"

My new laptop, that is. I possibly am becoming way too addicted to the Harry Potter series. My last computer was/is “Cecy,” after a character in some stories by Ray Bradbury. A house elf sounds good now.

Fetch does not seem to want to work, though, so I can’t show you (yet) the picture I took of me admiring my new screen. A camera comes pre-installed in the lid of the thing. Oh joy. Scared me for a moment, it did.

But what is Dobby, I hear you asking. Dobby is a MacBook Pro, 2.1 Ghz, 15″ screen at a resolution of 1440 x 900. Slick, if I do say so myself. And I do. Say so, that is.

  1. Congrats!

Did you know you can now install windows XP on it? Apple Boot Camp supports dual boot.

In answer to your question, no I don’t know why you would want to do that ๐Ÿ™‚

    I like the picture too.

  2. Well, how else will you ever be able to experience the BSOD? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Do you suppose the problem with Fetch is due to some incompatibility with Rosetta? Or has it been updated to Universal Binary?

I hope you’ll give us updates about living with the new ‘book and Intel chip…
